Our Team

When I was going through beauty school it was hard to image what my life would be like now.  What an adventure it has been, since my beauty school graduation in 2000.

For beauty school, I went to Mt. Hood Community College and received my Associates Degree in Cosmetology. I've worked at a couple of salons in Portland, but notably, I worked at Toni & Guy where I started as a color apprentice. After my intense 7 month apprenticeship, I worked there for 4 years before moving down to Albany. Working there gave me an immense appreciation for color theory and hair education. I truly am a color specialist.

I am also passionate about my family. 2000 was a big year for me again because I married my Chris that year. Our family grew to 3 in 2010, then 4 in 2011 when the adoptions of our children were finalized. They each are growing so fast and definitely keep life interesting.

Our family now owns The Mane Event Salon & Spa. Chris and I carry the responsibilities, but I say "family" because you may see Austin running the front desk or Emy dusting the shelves. I feel honored to be part of The Mane Event Story and I feel compelled to uphold it well. I am passionate about all these aspects of my life, and am very thankful for them.

Hi my name is Sara Adams I would like to share a little bit about myself.  My husband’s name is Brian; I have two children; Parker and Madison and I have also had the privilege of raising our nephew. When I think back and wonder WHY I love being a hair stylist, I think the hair industry has always been a part of my life as my mother and grandmother were both stylists so… it’s in my genes!  I have always loved listening to people and their needs for their hair and have loved trying to provide the best service I can for them.  When I am asked, “ Sara, what is your passion in life?”  I would have to say, “I love being a wife, a mother, and a hair stylist.” I graduated from Beauty School in 1999.  I am certified in Hair Design and Nail Technology.  After graduating, I started an apprenticeship program for a year and then continued to work at that salon until I decided I wanted to join The Mane Event Salon and Spa team in 2002.  I continued working at Mane Event until I had my son in 2006.  After taking a couple years to focus on family, I became an educator working at the beauty school in Albany.  From 2016-2018, I worked a a Team based salon which included continuing education each week to further my practical skills in the industry.  In late 2018, I had the privilege to come back to The Mane Event. I love working at The Mane Event Salon and Spa.  It allows me to have a little balance in my life with being a wife, a mother and a hair stylist!

I specialize in balayage, and colors and styles that are trendy, yet tasteful. My skills are very diverse, and can please a wide range of clientele!
